+ WALL MOUNT DISPLAY — hang it like artwork$59.99 value — bundled for $30.99Nobody here will tell you their bricks aren't excellent — we're builders too, and the shelves behind us prove it. The brick was never the problem. The price was. The brick patent expired in the 1970s: at brand price you're paying for the licence, the retail markup and the marketing — not the plastic. We make the same brick, to the same tolerance, and skip the badge.
Build it, display it, love it — or send it back within 30 days for every dollar, no questions asked. The risk is entirely ours.
Why the price looks too good
Nobody explains this on the shelf tag — so here it is, in plain words.
The brick patent expired in the 1970s. Anyone is allowed to make the brick, to the exact same dimensions. That part isn't a secret — it's law.
At $449.99, you’re paying for everything except the bricks. The licence, the brand, the retail markup, the marketing. The plastic is the cheapest thing in the box.
We make the same brick, to the same tolerance — and skip the badge. Tight clutch, crisp color, fully compatible with every brick you already own.
Then a person on our team opens, counts and re-seals every box. Numbered bags, a clear illustrated guide, and a hand-checked piece count before it ever ships.

Real builds, filmed by real customers.
Screen-free hours, honestly counted:
Numbered bags out, zero sorting — the chassis tub and rear subframe come together first, and the gearbox drums go in early.
Drivetrain hour. The V8 pistons start moving, the electric motor sits in beside them, and seven speeds run cleanly through both drums. This is the part people rebuild twice for fun.
Papaya panels on, wing set, doors swinging. Two feet of P1 — finished, displayed, yours.
*Based on customer accounts. Build times vary with pace and coffee supply.
The BrickSmart Promise
The people behind the boxes
Every set that leaves our warehouse gets opened, counted and re-sealed by a person on my team. I started BrickSmart after one too many $80 boxes with loose bricks and missing pieces — so if a set isn't good enough for my own shelf, it doesn't go in the box.

The spec sheet

Seven speeds through a pair of drums is fiddly to get right and this one meshed perfectly first time. The V8 and the electric motor sitting side by side is a lovely bit of engineering.

He's had a P1 poster since he was twenty and the first thing he said was that the papaya was exactly right. Doors swing properly, nothing droops. He's thrilled.

Everyone who walks past opens them. They swing up and out with proper resistance rather than flopping about. Sixteen hours well spent.

The real P1's nose is all compound curves and bricks can only get so close; every review says the same. Doesn't bother me from three feet away, and everything behind the front bumper is spot on.

I'd never built Technic before and never got properly stuck. Numbered bags meant no hunting for parts. Watching the pistons move the first time made the whole thing worth it.

Two feet is a lot of shelf. Mounted it instead and the underside detail is on show, which you never normally see. Looks like a piece of art on the wall.
